This is a listing for a desktop PC tower, with the following specifications: - Intel Celeron 2.4GHz Northwood Socket 478 CPU - Microsoft Windows XP Home genuine OEM license (Service Pack 3 installed) - NEC Computers SIS650 motherboard (SIS 650 chipset) - 512MB DDR SDRAM (NOTE: Windows reports 504MB due to the on-board video taking 8MB of RAM) - 1x Samsung 40GB IDE hard disk - 1x ID LG DVD writer drive - 1x ID CD writer drive - 1x 3.5" floppy diskette drive - SIS 315 on-board video adapter * - Realtek 8139 on-board 100Mbps ethernet LAN adapter (port on rear) - SIS 7012 on-board audio - 2x USB 1.1 ports on rear port panel, 2x on front panel - 3x audio ports on rear (line out, line in, mic), 2x audio ports on front (mic, line out) - 1x joystick / MIDI port on rear The motherboard has 1x AGP slot free, and 3 PCI slots free, as well as a modem connected to a riser port. * NOTE: SIS on-board video is not suitable for widescreen displays. It will work but does not correctly support 16:10 / 16:9 resolutions, just 4:3. Simply install an AGP video card to get around this. This is a refurbished system with Windows XP Home and all necessary drivers installed and ready to go, with a clutch of freeware software including Mozilla Firefox, Libre Office and more. This is an older-generation socket 478 single core PC. It is capable of most Internet activities (e.g. shopping, browsing, banking), and productivity tasks such as photo organisation and office work. It is absolutely not suitable for modern 3D games, and is not upgradeable to a point where it will play them well. It will also have trouble with HD video and HQ Skype video calls (low-res video and audio only calls should be fine). Please keep this in mind if interested. Apart from slight "shelf wear", the PC is in very good condition. A recovery CD will be included with this PC. Data protection notice: The hard disk drive passed through a low level format and an encrypted fill before OS installation to ensure all previous data was erased. However, if this PC fails for you within 30 days of purchase, please contact me so that we can arrange a diagnostic. The size and particularly the weight of the tower prohibits postage. I would guess that postage for this, particularly tracked, would be the best part of £20 or more.
